OK, so this is not necessarily a “new” site at all. It is however a site we felt we should showcase. Since the majority of the sites done lately have been in WordPress. This site uses the Joomla platform, and a highly customized theme package designed just for what this organization does.
Arqa Dea Tribe is the driving force of AIV Toronto and the “Artists, Innovators & Visionaries” concept at large. This is our personal project that we take quite seriously! It’s a perfect example of a slightly broader project. It can be easily replicated for other domains, and is full of wonderful community features. It currently features community membership, a live chat stream (much like Facebook’s), an advanced Forum, and the ability for certain members to be promoted and upload their own articles and images which then must be moderated by administrators of the organization. We’ve customized some wonderful database tools so that adding new “profiles” is amazingly easy from the backend of the site. This also makes every profile look consistent, and easy to navigate and find.
