Spontaneous Didgeridoo – Episode 9

I’ve wanted to do this for a while now. Play didgeridoo in a bunch of snow in the middle of a Canadian Winter. This nice looking blue PVC model is in a low “A” key, and was made by “Tribal Thunder” in 2003 or so. They are indestructible. It produces a super low drone when you can really hear it in a room, and is great for long continuous play. Low keys do not lend themselves as well for fast rhythms or quick toots. Every key in this instrument has quite a different feel to it. A low A is slow and relaxed with no...

Winterscapes | A Meditation In Nature

This video is simple footage I take regularly focusing on the seasons. I compose the music over the video in professional applications while watching the video with multiple synthesizers, and sometimes other instruments like live Didgeridoo. The music is created real time track by track quickly, using no quantization and very minimal editing, as the idea is that the music should reflect the feeling of the nature in the video. I give myself no more than 3 hours to complete the music for this series. It will likely never appear on any album or...

Keeping Your Basic Privacy While Browsing

It seemed high time to post about some of the things that I initially said I was going to when I switched to this version of the site. Instead it became all about the music almost immediately. Let’s change gears a bit and address some tech issues. I’d like to think that most people know by now that our basic privacy as humans is being decreased more all the time. Arguments can be made on both sides as to specifically how this is negative or positive. I’m not writing this for hardcore tech people. I’m writing it for...

Spontaneous Didgeridoo – Episode 7

As promised, the next two I’m behind on posting would be sent soon. And here we have Volume 7. I’ve been trying to go for some different vantage points and points of view. This came off pretty cool I thought! I filmed this in early September on a particularly warm day. I did something I don’t often do, and brought out my authentic Yidaki. It is one thing to have a traditionally made Eucalyptus, termite hollowed instrument from Australia. It is quite another to have one that was used for specific ceremonial purposes in...

Spontaneous Didgeridoo – Episode 6

I’m rather behind these days on all this sort of stuff. I am actually up to volume 8 of this series, but only now getting around to posting this one. Volume 6 brings us to the Eastern point of Bluffer’s Park during the sunset around July / August. The next 2 are also in some really nice settings! So stay tuned and please send your feedback. After the next 2 finished volumes are posted, I have different plans for volume 9. It’s time to add something dynamic. I’m sure by now people are tired of seeing just me playing an...

Spontaneous Didgeridoo – Episode 5

It’s finally Summer in Canada! OK, so it’s been Summer for a while, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. This has been an unseasonably cold year. Today however, is a hot sunny day. So it was time to take advantage of that and make a new video. Today we are local at Bluffer’s Park again, in an area called Dunker’s Flow. Dunker’s Flow is a storm water filtration system that is truly brilliant. You can read a large sign explaining exactly how it works. Come check it out for yourself. It’s also surrounded by...

New Eclipse Project Music: Shinrin Yoku – Part II

One of the newly finished tracks marked for the next album. This is only a pre release, and is therefore not the final mix nor properly mastered yet. Expect the final to sound tighter. “Shinrin Yoku” is the Japanese practice of “Forest Bathing”. Taking time to go out and commune with nature, solitary, often focusing on the breath & listening carefully while walking. It is a modern way to reintroduce the human species to the nature that surrounds us, that once made up most of the planet. This track is meant to...
